Three Generations of History - Chicochai Antiques Ltd.

Founded by Bento Lei in Macau in 1938, Chicochai Antiques evolved from an establishment that merchandised a medley of goods to one solely dedicated to offering a diversity of Chinese artifacts from ceramics to bronze. Bento’s eldest son, Francisco, grew up in an environment where he was able to learn and appreciate the beauty of ancient Chinese art objects. His passion for Chinese historical objects was one of the reasons that drew him to manage Chicochai Antiques until 1989, when he and his family immigrated to Canada.

In 1993, Francisco re-established Chicochai Antiques Ltd. in Vancouver, Canada and dedicated it as a locus that exclusively study and promote Chinese archaic jade. Chicochai Antiques Ltd. had been made more accessible to people worldwide by its entrance into the global market in June of 2000.

With an enthusiastic team led by Edmand (Francisco’s son) had since introduced and assisted many jade admirers with building their own collection. Our team is ready to serve collectors around the world with languages in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Spanish. Chicochai Antiques Ltd. is confident that the culmination of three generations of rich experience, knowledge and dedication makes it a leading authority in Chinese archaic jade.
